Warragul Warriors Junior Representative Squad 2023/2024 Progam

Warriors junior (U10-U18) representative squads are designed to promote both individual and team basketball skills and a love of the game. In addition to this, one team from each age group will represent WDABA at the Victorian Country Championships in 2024. 

Junior squad representative sides are selected from players that register and attend try out sessions each year and will include over 150 players aged between 8-17 years and up to 20 coaches! Every WDABA domestic player is eligible to attend the try outs!

Weekly training sessions will commence immediately after the trial weekends with Tournaments commencing 7th/8th October 2023 (Morwell).

Primary regular training sessions are on Sundays at Warragul Leisure Centre.

COACHES (Head Coach and Assistants)

All applicants will need to meet the below minimum criteria to be considered.

1. Coaching Accreditation – Head Coaches will be supported to obtain the ‘Club’ coach accreditation. Assistants will be supported to obtain the ‘Community’ coach accreditation (or Club if they desire).

2023/2024 Warriors Squad Tryout Dates

Warriors Junior Rep tryouts will be held over three weekends:

1. Saturday 29th / Sunday 30th July - schedule below

2. Saturday 5th / Sunday 6th August 

3. Saturday 12th / 13th Sunday August

**ELIGIBILITY - Warriors Squad players must have played/play in current OR preceeding domestic season. Potential Country Championship players must have played 5 games before 31 December 2023. Basketball Victoria must approve any exemptions.

Any player not able to attend tryouts must advise the Squad Co-ordinator prior to Week 1 at squad@warragulbasketball.org.au

Injured players should attend if they are nominating for 2023/2024 selection.
