The Warragul Basketball Association is an Incorporated Association proudly affiliated with Basketball Victoria and Basketball Australia. We are Gippsland's largest sporting organisation, delivering basketball to players of all ages and abilities across Baw Baw Shire and the surrounding region.

From the very first time a child picks up a ball through Aussie Hoops, right through to representing our region at the elite Big V level — the WBA is your home for basketball at every stage of the journey.

Participation Pathway Open to all, for life.

Focused on connection, enjoyment and lifelong participation in the game.

Ages 3–4 Mini Hoops Midweek, daytime sessions introducing movement, basic ball skills and play. The very first step into our community.
Ages 5–7 Ford Aussie Hoops Weekend, non-competitive sessions introducing children to basketball in a fun, safe and inclusive environment. The next step to club-based play.
Ages 5–10 Domestic U8 / U10 A child's first team experience. Age-appropriate rules, even teams and meaningful court time for every player. Fun, development and club belonging first.
Ages 11–18 Domestic U12–U19 Well-graded competition with ladders and finals. Develop skills, build friendships and stay in the game through the teenage years.
Ages 16+ Senior Domestic Play for life. Competitive, social and all-abilities opportunities for adults at every level. The natural home after junior basketball.
Performance Pathway A funnel: develop to perform.

Progressively more selective — identifying, stretching and showcasing our most committed and capable players.

Ages 7–15 (approx.) Future Warriors Academy The open front door of the performance pathway. Focused skill development, game understanding and confidence. The stepping stone into our selective programs.
Ages by age group Junior Warriors CRP & VJBL Selective junior representative basketball. Identify and stretch our most committed players through high-level competition and performance-focused development.
Ages 16+ Warriors CBL Senior development competition for emerging and transitioning players. The bridge between junior representative basketball and senior performance.
Ages 16+ Warriors Big V The peak of the pathway. Compete in Victoria's premier semi-professional competition, representing Warragul at the top of the local game.

Every family's situation is different. Find the scenario that fits yours — we'll point you straight to the right entry point in the pathway.

My child is brand new to sport. They're young, have never played basketball, and we want something fun and non-competitive to ease them in.
Participation Pathway → Mini Hoops (3–4) or Aussie Hoops (5–7) Start here
My child is ready for weekly competition. They've had some experience and want to play in a team, with real games, ladders and finals.

A free, girls-only basketball clinic brought to Warragul by Melbourne United. Two sessions, one morning — every participant goes home with her own ball, t-shirt and drink bottle. No experience needed.
