💡 WBA recommends 2 terms of Aussie Hoops before joining Junior Domestic Competition. This gives children the confidence, skills, and social readiness to thrive in a team environment.
Program Overview
What Is Ford Aussie Hoops?
Ford Aussie Hoops is Basketball Australia's premier beginner program designed specifically for children aged 5–10 years. Whether your child is picking up a basketball for the first time or looking to develop their early skills, Ford Aussie Hoops provides a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where children of all abilities can learn, grow, and fall in love with basketball.
Our program focuses on skill development, building self-esteem, and teaching social cooperation through organised sport — all while ensuring every participant has maximum enjoyment on the court.

How It Works
Three Progressive Stages
Ford Aussie Hoops is delivered in three progressive stages, ensuring participants engage in activities and games relevant to their physical and mental capabilities.
Term 3 2026
Session Schedule
Sessions are held across four locations throughout school terms. Registrations open at the end of each term for the upcoming term.
When do registrations open? Registrations for each new term open at the end of the previous term. Keep an eye on WBA's website and social media channels for announcements.

How Much Does It Cost?
⚠️ Please note: Starter Packs are organised externally by Basketball Victoria and Ford Aussie Hoops, and are an additional $50 on top of term registration. Only required for new participants.
