Ford Aussie Hoops is delivered in three progressive stages, ensuring participants engage in activities and games relevant to their physical and mental capabilities.

Introduction
to Basketball

Children learn basic ball handling, movement skills, and the fundamentals of the game through fun, age-appropriate activities designed to build confidence and enjoyment.

Skill
Development

Participants build on foundational skills, developing dribbling, passing, and shooting techniques alongside basic teamwork concepts that prepare them for cooperative play.

Game
Preparation

Activities increase in competitiveness as children prepare to transition into local club domestic competitions, applying their skills in structured game situations.

  • Size 4 or Size 5 Spalding basketball (modelled on the official BA game ball)
  • Personalised reversible singlet with your child's name & local centre logo
  • Sticker sheet featuring Australian national teams
Please note: Starter Packs are organised externally by Basketball Victoria and Ford Aussie Hoops, and are an additional $50 on top of term registration. Starter Packs are only required for new participants.
