Warragul Basketball Association (WBA) is an Incorporated Association operating under Victorian legislation. We are proudly affiliated with Basketball Victoria (BV) as our peak state body and Basketball Australia as the national governing body for basketball.

These affiliations ensure we operate in accordance with industry best practices, provide access to state and national pathways for our players, and maintain the highest standards of basketball administration and delivery.

Legal Structure

WBA is an Incorporated Association under Victorian legislation, with a Board of Directors elected by our members. Our operations are guided by a formal constitution and a comprehensive strategic plan.

LeadershipBoard Structure

WBA is governed by a Board of Directors elected by our members at the Annual General Meeting. The Board provides strategic direction for the association including the conduct, encouragement, promotion and administration of basketball throughout Gippsland, Baw Baw Shire and its surrounding areas.

The current board structure consists of seven elected members, with the flexibility to co-opt an additional two members as needed. Board members serve to ensure the association remains operationally and financially viable while delivering on our vision to provide high quality and inclusive basketball experiences.

2025–2026Board Members

Board members are elected at the Annual General Meeting and typically serve 2 years. Members are eligible for re-election in accordance with the association's constitution. The Board meets regularly throughout the year to oversee the association's operations, financial management, strategic planning, and governance obligations.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held each year in accordance with our constitution. All members are encouraged to attend, participate, and vote on key matters affecting the association.

2023–2028Strategic Plan

The association operates under a comprehensive Strategic Plan 2023–2028, which replaced our previous 2019–2021 plan. Our strategic plan outlines our vision, mission, and key objectives across six priority areas:

Governance FrameworkConstitution

The WBA Constitution sets out the rules and governance framework for our association. Our constitution was comprehensively updated in 2020 and most recently approved at the Annual General Meeting on 12 November 2025.

The constitution defines:

  • Dispute resolution procedures
